Ignore Stan Dogbe; He Is Discredited - Medical Assoc.

The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has described as laughable a leaked document purporting to be the service conditions they are demanding from government.

According to its General Secretary, Dr. Frank Serebour, the document is just an attempt by government to incite Ghanaians against them. Presidential staffer, Stan Dogbe in an attempt to deflate the argument of the striking doctors posted the said conditions of service on his facebook wall.

He said the doctors were among other things demanding 100 gallons of fuel for Senior Specialist Consultant, On-call-duty facilitation, 20 percent of basic salary and accommodation in leu, 40% of basic salary. Stand Dogbe maintained that the doctors claim of not having conditions of service is untrue.

But Dr. Frank Serebour said government has acted in “bad faith” by releasing a “fabricated” document as their condition of service. “We all know what Stan Dogbe can do so I find this document laughable because everything in there is incorrect,” he added.

The GMA General Secretary questioned the rationale behind the leaked document when in fact they together with government signed a pact not to release anything about the negotiation to the media. “Government has acted in bad faith and we are very disappointed because we agreed not to leak anything to the media,” he stressed.

Dr. Frank Serebour said though they have declared a strike, they are still open for negotiations if invited.
