Mahama's Gunman: I'm Not Happy With Gen. Mosquito... - Kwesi Pratt

Kwesi Pratt Jnr., Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, has condemned the remarks by the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the failed assassination attempt on the life of President John Dramani Mahama by one Charles Antwi.

Charles Antwi was arrested at the President's church and charged for attempting to kill the President.

He has been sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Following the court ruling, the NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, also called General Mosquito, has accused the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of employing the services of the gunman to do its bidding.

According to him, the NPP once hired a mentally deranged man to participate in its "Won Gbo" demonstration against the Mahama administration and so hiring another mad person to kill the President apparently is not farfetched.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Kwesi Pratt expressed disappointment in the NDC General Secretary saying he didn't speak well.

He told the host that the nation is not ready for the General Secretary's blame game since such innuendos may spell doom for the country.

“Frankly speaking, General Mosquito didn’t speak well. He didn’t speak well at all. This is a serious issue that we all; we need to soberly reflect upon it. At this stage, if you start playing a blame game with it [party vrs party], then you want to ruin the entire country. You will be helping to conceal the truth.

“I am not happy about the comment of the General Secretary of the NDC. This is not the time for such comments. At this stage, we all have to make efforts to unearth the truth.”
