Medical doctors are mostly gentle, soft-spoken and well-cultured professionals. As a result, they are well respected by the society. It’s no wonder therefore that many parents want their wards to become medical doctors.

So, when a certain Dr. Frank Serebour went on air at Hot FM last Friday spewing words that will make the most uncouth person cringe, he was in fact inadvertently working his way into the “Guinness Book of Records” as Ghana ‘Most Vulgar and Foul-Mouthed Medical Doctor.’
In fact, many who listened to the programme could not believe that the man who was speaking was not only a Medical Doctor but also the General-Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).

Dr. Serebour effusions came about when he was reacting to comments made by an NDC activist on a programme being hosted by the radio station. The activists had, in his delivery said Ghanaians were tired of the frequent threats of strike by doctors in the country and with their threats to resign, they should do as they please. This, from the NDC activist, draw the bile of the General-Secretary of the GMA and sent him ranting.

Reacting via phone, Dr. Frank Serebour, speaking in Twi attacked the NDC activist, NDC communicators and NDC as a party in general in very unprintable language.

When the host of the programme asked if it was NDC he was describing in such unsavory terms, he ignored him and proceeded with more insults. The host tried several times to draw his attention to the vulgar words he was spewing but he would not listen. The host, describing his words as ‘vulgar’ asked him to withdraw them but Dr. Frank Serebour ignores him.

“If they want us to descend into the gutters, we shall descend into the gutter with them,” he said with pride. After spewing several unprintable words, he then went on to say he is well educated so he will not speak like the NDC activist.

“When you go to school and you are taught sense like I was taught, I don’t do those things” he said. The host described his words as being “so unfortunate” as he brought the programme to an end.

The interview has since gone viral on social media. Many who hear it cannot believe a medical doctor could be so vulgar, foul-mouthed and uncouth. Some opine that the medical profession has not been able to sanitize his speech probably because he is a ‘dzimakpla’, an Ewe word for people who were not well brought up at home.
