10 Years Is "Very Short", Ill Serve It And Become President Of Ghana Prez Mahama's Gunman

Charles Antwi was arrested for possession of firearms without lawful excuse at the church (Assemblies of God Ringway branch) of President John Mahama a week ago.

The court passed the judgment after Charles Antwi had told the judge he carried the gun with the intent to kill President John Dramni Mahama.

His persecution has generated lots of discussions after his mother and some friends revealed that Charles Antwi is mentally handicap.

His plight has compelled a Legal Practitioner, Francis Xavier Kojo Sosu to offer legal assistance to him.

Speaking on Citi FM, Mr. Sosu said the ruling must be “quashed and it is likely that we will do this next week.”

He revealed that he had requested for “some documentations and medical proof from the family to challenge the ruling.”

Mr. Sosu is not the only person pushing for a review of the ruling on Antwi case. A private legal practitioner, Godwin Adjei-Gyamfi has done same, petitioning the Amnesty International to investigate the case.

Lawyer Francis who is seeking asylum for Charles says his interactions with him at the Bureau of National Investigations [BNI] cells where he is been kept tells he is not mentally stable.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie", Lawyer Francis noted that, the convict is still hopeful of becoming Ghana’s president after serving his jail term which he says is - “very short”.

“10 years is not enough, I will serve it and after I will become the president of Ghana soon,” Charles Antwi told lawyer Francis Sosu.
