Free Zones Board Seeks Chief Imam�s Blessings

The management of Free Zones Board (FZB), the board tasked to manage the Free Zones enclave on Thursday July 30, sought the blessings of the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheick Nuhu Sharubutu, for the smooth operations of its activities across the country, after presenting a whopping one thousand Ghana Cedis to support the successful end of this year’s month of fasting.

According to the Board, the presentation of the cheque forms part of the board’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the citizenry and to institutions that hold the fort for the nation by way of prayers. Presenting the cheque to the National Chief Iman at a short ceremony at his residence in Fadaama, a suburb of Accra, Acting Deputy Executive Secretary of the Board, Madam Oboubia Darko-Opoku, said the presentation was a display of commitment and efforts of Mr Kojo Twum-Boafo, Executive Secretary to annually support the Chief Imam during the month of Ramadan. Madam Oboubia Darko-Opoku joined by Mr Fredrick Hono-Larbi, Head of the Information Technology (IT) department of the Board and Hajia Hanatu Abubakar, head of Investor support service at the Board said the Board has been doing this for the past four years and it has become an annual event on the CSR calendar of the Board. She said the Board was moved by the thirty-days of prayer for the nation, the presidency as well as the success of the Board and all other companies operating in the country. She said the Board, was motivated by the magnanimity of the Chief Imam to feed all the citizens that troop to his residence for a meal after the fasting period of the day.

She said it was easy to engage in such an exercise of prayers, and the Board will continue to support all acts of worship in the country She noted that Ramadan is a big programme on the Moslem calendar that cannot be ignored but appreciated. She the Board believes in the exercise hence the presentation to be part of the blessings from the Chief Imam. The Chief Imam also joined by two of his sons namely, Ibrahim Sharubutu and Ahaji Abubakar Sharubutu offered prayers for the Board and thanked them for the kind gesture.
