Agyeman Badu Set To Join Al-Ittihad As Wakaso Deal Fail

Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al Ittihad Jeddah have turned attention to Ghana and Udinese midfield powerhouse Emmanuel Agyeman Badu after a reported move for compatriot Mubarak Wakaso failed to materialise. Despite having a successful medical on Monday, Mubarak Wakaso's transfer to the Saudi Arabian side stalled with the player's agent Miguel Garcias Hita blocking the deal over a disagreement with a new agent Eduardo, who wanted act on his behalf. This is despite the fact that the player underwent medicals successfully with the Saudi and Asian giants in Italy amid reports that he has signed a deal worth 2.5 million Euros a year. It means the quest by the Ghana international midfielder to join compatriot, Sulley Muntari at the Asian champions could yet not materialise if the parties fail to reach an agreement. But Ghansportsonline.com has gathered exclusive reports that Al Ittihad's African agent Mohammed, Mohammed Benyamin has contacted Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu as a replacement for Wakaso at Al Ittihad. "We have now decided to cancel the Mubarak (Wakaso) deal because the player and a new agent wanted to sign the deal behind his realagent and that couldland Ittihad and the player in serious trouble", Benyamin told Ghanasportsonline.com "The club, through me, has contacted Agyeman Badu and his agent and they both seem to have interest in the offer on the table and we will work to bring him to join Muntari as soon as possible". Badu, a former Asante Kotoko midfidelder was reported to be nearing a switch to Stoke City after the club held talks over a deal for Udinese midfielder. The 24-year-old and his representative Papa Agyemang was even at Stoke's training ground on earlier this month ahead of the proposed 4million deal. But it appears he might be heading to the Oil rich Arab nation where his former Italy playmate Sulley Muntari has signed a 2-year deal. The Ghana international has one year left on contract and has been on the radar of several clubs since last year. Agyemang-Badu is a player who is comfortable in the midfield holding role with over 60 caps for his country.
