Amoako Baah Tells Mahama: You Can't Run A Country With A Dead Goat Syndrome!

President John Dramni Mahama’s unbending stance not to pay beyond what has been budgeted by his government for wages, allowances and salaries for public sector workers has infuriated the head of the Department of History and Political Science of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah.

The renowned Political Science lecturer considers the president’s latest remark as – “below the belt." and wished the president had "kept quiet” over the matter.

Addressing members of the Ghana Registered Midwives Association, GRWA at the launch of their 80th anniversary in Accra, President John Mahama stated categorically that - “Any agreements that are reached in respect of allowances or conditions of services would have to be appropriately captured in the budget.

"And I want to say for emphasis I will not authorize any expenditure on wages and compensation not provided for in the budget."

He does not want to break the spine of the Single Spine Salary Structure.

But Dr. Amoako Baah is unhappy by the president's position on the matter whiles doctors are on a nationwide stike – he claims the president is simply – “obeying the International Monetary Fund [IMF] orders”.

Speaking in an interview with Akwasi Aboagye, host of NEAT FM’s Ghana Montie morning show, the political science lecturer opined that – “Because we are not in a political year, President Mahama talks arrogantly”.

You cannot run a country with a dead goat syndrome. The country is not for President Mahama. His comments weren’t necessary,” he added.
