A deputy communications director for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi says if the accusations against the NPP in the matter of the doctors’ strike is anything to go by then it means Ghanaians have lost confidence and trust in the ruling party and government.

The 1st Vice Chairperson of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desoso, has accused executives of the NPP of being behind the strike action of the doctors. She supports her accusation by stating that the comments and the posture of the leadership of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) seem to be in line with that of the NPP executives.

Therefore, by inference, she draws the conclusion that the NPP are behind the strike action.

She told Kwesi Fokuo Kudom, host Top Fm’s news analyses programme “ƐnƐ Ghana” on Thursday, that members of the NDC are moving across the country explaining to Ghanaians the main rationale behind the strike and that the NPP are behind it.

But Adomako Baafi says the government is fond of engaging in blame game instead of dealing with the core issues at hand. He said “if we in opposition can influence the doctors and the other labour unions to embark on strike action then it means the government has lost it.”

“In fact what it means is that Ghanaians have lost confidence and trust in the government and for that matter the NDC,” he said.
