VIDEO:Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Straightens Twisted Encounter With Nana Addo

Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has once again opened up on reports that he was violently accosted by Nana Akufo Addo at the end of the second and final part of the Institute of Economic Affairs' Presidential Debate in 2012.

Oppong-Nkrumah’s name was drawn into the usual NDC and NPP political fray when he, after moderating the show, was allegedly approached in an aggressive and menacing manner by the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

But speaking on Okay FM, the NPP’s elected parliamentary candidate for Ofoase Ayirebi cleared the air stating that he was never approached in the manner the NDC cooked up the story to make the NPP flagbearer appear violent.

He explained that Nana Akufo Addo only approached him to draw his attention that he wished he had been given extra time to rebut a statement the flagbearer for the People’s National Convention (PNC) had made. But per the rules of the game Mr. Nkrumah explains he never budged to the request and this pushed Nana Addo’s to confront him in a gentleman manner.

He (Nana Addo) walked up to me to say he had wanted to rebut to what Ayariga had said. But I reiterated to him that time is up and I couldn’t allow him to rebut... After what happened, the NDC started making a comment that Nana Addo wanted to fight me just to feed into a comment they have been making about him over the years”, he said.
