Republic Newspaper Editor Provoked Me�He Claim �I Don�t Understand English� � John Boadu

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has said editor of the Republic Newspaper, David Tamakloe was not ready to amicably retract a false publication made on his persona – that he noted, compelled him to sue the Accra-based Newspaper a whooping amount of GH₵5 billion.

According to John Boadu, the editor further labelled him an unintelligent politician; “he told me I don’t understand English because his publication was not defamatory”.

John Boadu sued DST Global Consult, Publisher of the Republic Newspaper, the News Editor and the Managing editor for libel.

The suit is in connection with the July 21, 2015 publication in the paper, with headline “John Boadu Grabs new $40,000 car- Accused of pocketing GH650, 000 as Talensi creditors chase NPP”.

‘Uncle JB’ as affectionately called in politics is seeking an exemplary damages of GH500, 000 and General damages from Michael Ghanney, News Editor, David Tamakloe, Managing Editor and the Publisher, DST Global Consult.

According to the Plaintiff whose lawyers are Lexkudoz Legal Consultants, the defendants headline in the July 22, 2015 of the Republic newspaper is defamatory.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie" the NPP’s National organizer warned journalists to be circumspect in their publications.

“...At least they can confirm their stories before putting it out in the public domain,” he stated.
