Two Cocoa Farmers Grabbed For Selling Wee

Two cocoa farmers who also dabble in the sale of Indian hemp have been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command.

The suspects - Salifu Moro, 52; and Kwesi Kissi, 20, both cocoa farmers - were arrested upon a tip-off.

Speaking about the arrest, the Nkawkaw District Police Commander, Superintendent Stephen Ahiatafu held that according to the tip-off, Salifu has been plying the trade in the area for several years now.

According to him, in order not to draw attention to himself, he sold the drug under the pretext of selling cigarette and sachet water.

However, according to sources, the activities of Moro have culminated in most of the youth becoming addicts and school dropouts.

When police got wind of his activities, on July 23, they arrested him and his accomplice, Kwesi Kissi, who was found with a rubber bucket containing wrappers, scissors and dried leaves believed to be ‘wee’.

A search in Salifu’s house and kiosk revealed several packages of dried leaves suspected to be ‘wee’. During interrogation, he admitted the offence and pleaded for clemency.

He is being processed for court.
