"NDC Is Bad Business For Ghanaian Youth Sammy Awuku

National Youth Organiser of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP], Sammy Awuku, believes the NDC-led government is “not friendly” to Ghanaian youth.

He noted that the ruling government is doing little to inspire and uplift the youth in recent times.

The NDC is a bad business for Ghanaian youth,” he asserts.

It is regrettable to state that the noble dreams of many young men and women which flourished under the previous NPP government have all of a sudden become nightmares under the John Mahama led National Democratic Congress government,” he adds.

However, one hundred and seven young people have been ushered into the world of entrepreneurship when they received monetary support totalling about GH¢2.7 million under the Youth Enterprises Support (YES) initiative.

Some of them will be starting their own businesses, while others will expand theirs to employ other youth – President Mahama gave the loan to the youth at the presidency to commemorate the World International Youth Day, yesterday.

But speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show "Ghana Montie", Sammy Awuku claims the president's gesture was to earn praises.

The whole concept of youth empowerment has become a mirage; leaving the youth of the country in a rather sorry state,” he noted.

He told host Kwasi Aboagye that – the results of the West African Examination Council shows how badly students performed – “over 70,000 students would for the upcoming academic year not be admitted into any tertiary institution”.

The NPP’s youth organizer has however called on the youth to take their destiny into their own hands by campaigning for a change.
