"I Will Not Peak Before Time" - Halidu Haruna

Alhaji Halidu Haruna a Communication Team Member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has insisted he would not break the laws of the party by ‘peaking before time’.

Speaking on Neat 100.9 FM’s current affairs programme, Me Man Nti, the NDC Communicator revealed that pressure is being brought to bear on him to declare his intention to contest the upcoming Parliamentary primaries in Ablekuma Central Constituency.

“...I understand the fact that I am liked very much in Ablekuma Central. I respect all who have made calls on me to run for Parliament on the ticket of the NDC in the Constituency but we should bear in mind that nominations have not been opened and therefore would amount to an illegality if I peaked before time”.

I am willing to go by the rules and regulations governing the activities of the party to the latter. We must also be focused in working hard and propagating the good works of President John Dramani Mahama,” he said.

Nonetheless, Alhaji Halidu Haruna is highly tipped by political pundits to emerge Parliamentary Candidate for the party in government should he contest due to his immerse contribution to the development of the area.

But according to him, he would not succumb to pressure by loved ones in the Constituency which would eventually lead to breaking of party rules.
