Muslims Admonished To Be Disciplined

The Ameer and Missionary in charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana, Alhaji Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, has admonished Muslims to be self-disciplined to ensure the progress of Islam in the country. According to him, without discipline, tolerance, patience and love for one another, others would not be attracted to the religion, which, he said, was an embodiment of peace. Alhaji Bin Salih was speaking at the 25th annual regional conference of the Greater Accra Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission. The theme for the conference was; Curbing indiscipline in our society: The Islamic perspective. The only difference between man and animal is discipline. Therefore, a man without discipline is more or less an animal in character, he alluded. The Ameer added that true democracy could be attained through self-discipline. A disciplined society is one that ensures that its people live in peace and harmony. Ahmadis Alhaji Bin Salih further charged Ahmadis in the country to lead lives worthy of emulation. He advised them to allow the Quran and the Hadith, the practices of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.) to guide their daily lives. The Ameer also impressed upon them to regularly practise Zakat (alms), which is a Pillar of Islam, as well as pay their monthly dues for the progress of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. A national executive member of the mission, Alhaj Abdur Rahman Ennin, also entreated Ahmadi Muslim parents to live exemplary lives and to pay more attention to the training and welfare of their children since discipline originated from the home. The Greater Accra Regional President of the Mission, Alhaj Alhassan K. Ghansah, noted that the prevailing acts of indiscipline in the country, if not checked, could drag the development of the nation backwards.
