NPP Has Only Made Bawumia A Champion In Weak Post Mortem Analysis

Even though members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) seem to be making strides with their call for a new voters’ register as we head towards 2016, it appears not everyone has bought into their message.

One of such character is Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, an aspirant gunning to be the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.

In a presentation by the NPP’s vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party alleged that by using facial biometric recognition technology, their investigation team fished out 76,286 voters with the same names and faces on the Ghanaian and Togolese voters' registers.

Shortly after the NPP pointed out the supposed flaws in the current voters’ register, Alhaji Dori, who is the MD for I. A. DORI ENT LTD a construction firm, spoke to Peacefmonline.com to register his displeasure at the mischievous analysis communicated to Ghanaians.

He claims the party first got it all wrong when they decided to go to court after the 2012 elections and is greatly saddened to see an intellect like Dr. Bawumia, blossom to become a champion in “weak” post mortem analysis.

According to him, instead of focusing on the potency of their campaign message before and after the 2012 elections, the NPP spent all their time analysing evidence on the face of the pink sheet after they lost the general elections.

I wonder why NPP keeps channelling all their energies in putting out frivolous and mischievous analysis about our voters’ register...this same party failed to win the 2012 general elections because they refused to dedicate a lot more time analysing the potency and how convincing their campaign messages were.

They wasted all their time analysing the evidence on the face of the pink sheet after they lost the 2012 general elections”, Alhaji Dori said.

During the NPP’s presentation, the party suggested to the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile a new register to replace the over bloated 2012 register.

They also proposed to the EC to ensure the new register results in the issue of Permanent Voter Cards with biometric information embedded in the cards as was the case in Nigeria recently and requested for copies of the new voters’ register to be given to political parties in both the electronic (csv file) and (pdf file) formats.

But Alhaji Dori wished the NPP had used that ample time to launch a massive campaign strategy ahead of 2016. He believes till date, the opposition party isn’t working hard to convince the ordinary Ghanaian to vote for them.
