Professor Edmund Delle is lacing his boot to challenge incumbent chairperson of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) as it heads to the polls to elect new national executives.

It’s not clear if Samia Nkrumah will be the one leading them in 2016 but the former Chairman is poist to oust her. According to Mr. Delle, the election of Samia caused divisions in the party- a problem he is ready to fix.

In his view, the CPP needs a more matured and experience person to ensure a united front to lead them to victory in the 2016 polls. “I will make every sacrifice to ensure the CPP is united to win the 2016 general elections” he added.

Edmund Delle said if elected Chairman he will engage in unity talks with the smaller parties for a resounding victory in 2016.

Meanwhile the party’s Director of Communications, Nii Armah Akomfrah is gunning to be the next general secretary. That post is currently held by Ivor Greenstreet but Mr Akomfrah said his leadership will guarantee that CPP returns to power in the 2016 elections.
