NPPs Supposed 76,286 Togolese In Voters Register Is A Mirage - It Doesn't Exist - Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC], Koku Anyidoho, has said that the list of supposed Togolese nationals in Ghana’s voters register is concocted by the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] to discredit the current voters register.

Using facial biometric recognition technology, the NPP’s investigation team fished out 76,286 voters with the same names and faces on the Ghanaian and Togolese voters registers. This was made known by the party’s vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as he illustrated during a power point presentation.

"Many of the pictures of the Togolese citizens on Ghana’s register were not taken in a live environment but rather scanned from existing pictures and documents," Dr. Bawumia asserted.

But pontificating on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the deputy chief scribe of the ruling NDC insisted the list of ‘supposed’ Togolese provided by their political opponent [NPP] is sheer speculation which is orchestrated to raise doubt in Ghana’s voters’ register.

He was of the firm believe that the 2016 general elections have become a tough contest for their main political rival [NPP] and so it has resorted to spewing lies to Ghanaians in order to win public sympathy.

“NPP’s 76,286 Togolese in our voters register is sheer speculation; they are desperate for power but we have the mandate of Ghanaians to protect and defend them...they know the Dumsor politics will not take them to victory,” he asserted.

He added the NPP has realized the kind of work President Mahama and the NDC are doing coupled with the unity and peace well established in the NDC is enough to retain the mandate of Ghanaians; hence the noise about the voters register.

“..apart from that there is unity and peace in our party as against the infighting going on in the NPP and that is why they have decided to make noise about the voters’ register, then they can load the register with minors. That’s precisely what they want to do; it is NPP’s character, they want the voters register open so that they can load it with minors,” he indicated.
