I Wont Resign Sam Fletcher

The Head of Cooperate Communications at the Volta River Authority (VRA) Sam Kwesi Fletcher has told Citi News he will not resign from his position despite declaring his intentions to contest the Gomoa West Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr. Fletcher, a member of the NDC said the party needs a new face to represent the constituency. The Gomoa West seat is currently being occupied by Francis Kojo Arthur of the NDC.

Speaking to Citi News, Sam Fletcher said his decision to do politics does not warrant his resignation as the Volta River Autority (VRA) boss.

“I will continue doing my job. In my position, I am currently working as the Head of corporate communications of VRA. I cant be doing my job and at the same time resign so I am doing my job. We all go into the contest to win so I am going into the contest to win.”

“I am very confident that if you are driving on a highway and you want to overtake somebody you asses your speed in relation to the other driver’s speed. I have done that and I have realised that my speed is faster,” he said.

He has served as the party’s General Secretary, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Regional Communications Committee and Vice Chairman to the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah.

He will battle it out with the NPP’s Cynthia Morrison in 2016 if he is candidature is endorsed in the party’s upcoming primaries.
