I Can Now Fit Comfortably In My Clothes" - Obour

MUSIGA president, Bice Osei-Kuffour, known in showbiz circles as Obour, is startled at wild rumours that he had been hospitalised after collapsing while training at the University of Ghana Park. Looking trimmer after shedding a lot of weight through intense fitness regimen, the Konkotiba hitmaker said he neither collapsed nor was hospitalised. Curiously, what appeared as a joke by friends who teased the hiplife star and took photographs of him while resting after an exhaustive exercise at Legon soon turned into an expensive prank that went viral and caused a panic reaction in music circles. I felt really tired so I decided to lie down and rest, some friends of mine started teasing me and took a picture of me which went viral on social media, explained Obour in an interview with Showbiz on Tuesday. But Obuor, who is confident he is winning a personal battle to lose weight and return to shape, says he plans turning his fitness experience into a TV show soon to motivate people to know that they can also lose weight. He took Showbiz on his journey towards fitness which started sometime in June this year during a charity football match between celebrities and the Black Stars in Kumasi at which a photograph depicting his bulging tummy went viral and got people talking. From then, he decided to take charge of his health. A picture of me with a protruding belly went viral and that urged me to lose weight especially after fans, colleagues and family had expressed concern about my weight and the health threat it could pose to me. I made a firm decision to do it for those who care about me, as a leader, I needed to do it. I had started snoring and could not play football as I used to do in the past so I realized I needed to do something about my weight, he said. It looks like already, Obour has achieved results because he used to weigh 113kg(250lbs) but now weighs 102kg( 225lbs). His aim is to weigh 72kg (160lbs) in six months. Its a lot of hard work but with determination, I know I will get there. I really want to lose my pot belly, he said with a smile. Obour who is obviously pleased with himself for shedding some weight since he started working out said, I can now fit comfortably in my clothes and the feeling is just great. No more tight fitting attires. And my tummy has gone down too. According to Obour, to succeed with his weight loss, he contacted Jessica Opare-Saforo of Citi FM (who has lost some weight herself) who gave him lots of pointers and took him through a 14-day detox after which he lost 4kg(10lbs). I also have a project manager called Naya Sad who is very instrumental in my weight loss. He buys me a special present anytime I lose 2kg(5lbs). He expressed gratitude to all those who showed concern when the news went round that he had collapsed. Im grateful to all those who have shown me love. I received over 2,000 phone calls and I would like everyone to know that I am very fit, he said.
