Im A Local Boy Kobby Acheampong

Former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) is predicting a landslide victory as he laces his boot to contest the Cape Coast North constituency primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central region.

Kobby Acheampong who claims to the “local boy” among all the aspirants seeking to replace First Deputy Speaker in Parliament, Ebo Barton Odro is confident of victory in the primaries slated for 30th November, 2015.

Following the decision by Mr. Barton Odro not to seek re-election in 2016, about five persons have already expressed interest to contest the slot.

Among them are Anthony Egyir Aikins, former Cape Coast Metropolitan Chief Executive, Charles Kojo Walker, a businessman and Justice Kofi Boison who contested but lost the last primaries.

But Mr. Acheampong who is currently the Administrator of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday said the others don’t pose any treat to him.

He explained that being an indigene of the Cape Coast North constituency gives him a competitive advantage over the rest.

“I’m a local boy but the other aspirants came to settle in the constituency so I have an added advantage” he stated.

Kobby Acheampong urged delegates to vote massively for him to retain the seat for the NDC in the 2016 general elections.
