Wakaso Completes Loan Move To Las Palmas

The Ghana international would be hoping to bring back his club career on track after a difficult two-year frustration. Spanish side UD Las Palmas have confirmed the signing of Mubarak Wakaso on a season-long loan from Rubin Kazan with an option to buy. The 25-year-old joins the Yellows on his second consecutive loan, having spent last season at Scottish giants Celtic under Ronny Deila, where he made just five league appearances in arguably his worst ever season in Europe. Earlier, the midfielder had arrived in the camps of Saudi side Ittihad FC ahead of a possible move, but the deal fell through due to a lack of agreement over financial involvement. I have come to UD because it is a big club in Spain, Wakaso said at his unveiling on Monday. I am here to help the team and do great things.I will train well in order to get minutes [in game time]. I'm in a good moment in my career. I think it's good for my future coming here. Palmas director general Toni Cruz added: We appreciate the efforts of Wakaso to come to Las Palmas and also their agents. For us, it was one of those opportunities that arise once in a lifetime. The player is very versatile and can play in any position [in] midfield and even play on the wings. It gives us a leap in quality for speed [and] aggressiveness in the game. Wakasos latest move is set to be his fourth in Spain after joining Elche in 2008, Villarreal in 2011 as well as Espanyol in 2012. The former Ashanti Gold man joined Kazan from Espanyol in the summer of 2013 after a phenomenal La Liga season where he registered three goals in 26 appearances. His first season in Russia would, however, not be as flamboyant as he made just 14 appearances.
