Anlo Cnity Hit By Waves

Tidal waves have hit the Anlo Constituency, again, completely wiping out one village, Kporkporgbor. Nothing is left of the community now, said Mr. Kofi Humado MP for the area. Briefing The Ghanaian Times on phone from the disaster scene on Sunday, he said the displaced population of about 300 had relocated to Ada, Keta and Srogboe and some communities in the South Tongu District, where they were putting up with relatives. The MP revealed that another 126 people at nearby Fuveme had also been displaced as the ruthless storms, which hit the area a week ago, destroyed 21 houses from the village. According to Mr. Humado, some of the disaster victims in Fuveme were currently sleeping in the open. All we need to do is to adopt a medium to long-term plan to relocate the people onto safer grounds, he told The Ghanaian Times.
