GFA To Embark On Nationwide Tour

Technical director of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Francis Oti-Akenteng has revealed that the FA is set to embark on a nationwide tour which will see them recruit talented players to the national Under 17 team, the Black Starlet. Speaking to reporters at the Airtel Risng Stars finals in Sunyani, the former Satellites trainer stated that, the yet-to-be-introduced initiative is a decision taken by Ghana�s football governing body to get more talented players domestically promoted to the various national teams. According to him, that will help mitigate the usual invitations extended to some foreign based players who turn to perform poorly at various tournaments. � We have realized that, most of the foreign players who are mostly given invitations to the Black Starlets and the Satellites teams end up disappointing some of us at various tournaments and so to be able to minimized this, we will soon embark on a nationwide tour and select the good players we get to the Black Starlet�s team�, Oti-Akenteng said. The veteran trainer also disclosed that the likes of former Kotoko coach, Mas Ud Didi Dramani and Paa Kwesi Fabin of Inter Allies have been tasked with the initiative of embarking on a nationwide tour to unearth the talents. �I [Oti Akenteng], Mas Ud Didi Dramani and Paa Kwesi Fabian are the coaches who will lead this nationwide tour� , he said. �We believe that through this exercise we will be able to get some great players to help our national teams, especially the U17 team� Oti-Akenteng concluded.
