Ghanaians have been asked to support the government in its quest to finding lasting solutions to the various challenges confronting the nation.
According to the former Head Pastor of the Covenant Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Rev. Dr Charles Gyang-Duah, the only way the country could rise above its current economic difficulties was for the people to support the government with pragmatic ideas to tackle issues keeping the nation down.
�Ghana has now become a nation of complaints. Everybody, including Christians, is complaining about the negative development trends. We have allowed the spirit of fear to dominate our thinking for far too long,� Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah stated at his valedictory and retirement service in Accra.
The service was to honour Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah for his tremendous contribution to the growth of the PCG during his 36 years of active service as a leader of the church.
Faith
Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah also urged Ghanaians not to allow the prevailing economic challenges to affect their faith in God.
�Yes, Ghana is encountering challenges but that does not mean we should act like eagles in the mist of hens. We must see every struggle as an opportunity to occupy new territories as a nation,� he indicated.
Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah further claimed that in spite of the difficulties Ghanaians were encountering now, the country had been chosen to become one of the blessed nations in the world.
According to him, the �challenges are there to authenticate the validity of our right as a nation that would attain God�s blessings.�
Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah urged the leadership of the church to continue to impact positively on the lives of the people and the nation since it formed one of the core values of the church.
Rev. Dr Gyang-Duah
Born on November 18, 1945 at Seekwa in the Brong Ahafo Region, Rev. Gyang-Duah was called into the ministry in 1979 upon completion of his �A� level examination.
He served as the Minister in charge of various branches of the PCG, including the Abeka Congregation in Accra and the Asawase District in Kumasi.
Currently, Rev. Gyang-Duah is a member of the Governing Council of the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.
