Pratt: Quarshigah Will Not Get 20 Votes from Delegates

The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has offered a piece of unsolicited advice to Major (rtd) Courage Quarshigah, former Minister of Health in the NPP Administration, not to even consider contesting the flagbearer position of the party. Activists Forum for the New Ghana, made up of NPP Party members and youth activists, yesterday threw their weight behind Major (rtd) Courage Quarshigah in a press statement signed by Stephen Asiedu, who described himself as a Senior Activist. According to Mr Pratt, should the former Health Minister attempt to contest for that position, it will be a complete waste of time. Ive a lot of respect for him and I believe he was one of the few NPP Ministers who discharged his duties effectively during his tenure as Health minister, but there is no way Quarshigah will become NPP flagbearer. Hell not get even 20 votes from the delegates if he decides to contest, Pratt said. The Insight Newspaper Managing Editor believes that, the Extraordinary Conference is not about any amendment or reforms. The main issue, he opines, is the self centred, parochial interest of the two personalities (Akufo Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng), and which one of them leads the NPP in 2012. The self-confessed Social Commentator, was contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FMs Morning Show Kokrokoo, regarding NPPs Extraordinary Delegates Conference scheduled to take place on Saturday.
