Hundreds of people drawn from all walks of life, over the weekend, joined residents, chiefs and people of Cape Coast in the Central region to celebrate their annual Fetu Afehye festival. Speaking at the colorful festival, Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur a native Cape coast said without peace, unity there can never be development. Especially nurturing the youth to prepare themselves for the future ahead of them, so the need for us to live in peace and harmony, in order to nature the youth for a brighter generation. Touching on the theme for the festival: �Nurturing the younger generation to take up the mantle of leadership of this great country in the right direction, hence the need for them to embrace peace and also help the youth in the area of education. Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur said its being one year of progress, especially visiting two most important sites thus the kotokuraba Market and the Cape Coast sports stadium which is almost close to completion. He said he was impressed with process of work and skills that the artisan in Cape Coast are learning at the various sites, so that in the near future they can help put up such structures in other part of the country. The Vice President paid glowing tribute to late President John Mils for the vision of making sure that a dream come through in Cape Coast, especially a project of such nature that has brought a lot of work and skills to young artisans in the area. The Vice President said taking a look around this year Afahye, he has seen a tremendous success and increase of numbers since the last two years that he attended and hoped that it would continue to be a successful festival. In attendance were the Central Regional Minister Hon Aquanas Tawiah Quansah, , the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Ebo Barton Odro, and the Deputy Minister of Trade, Kweku Rickets Hagan, among others.
