I Will Jubilate If Mahama Loses 2016 Alhaji Bature

Editor of the Al Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Iddrissu Bature has claimed that he would be the least surprised if President John Dramani Mahama loses the 2016 General Elections.

“I will not be surprised if Mahama loses 2016…NPP didn’t lose 2008 election because they didn’t perform…it is bickering…people put themselves before the political party…they made the mistakes…,” he said.

The pro-NDC newspaper editor speaking on Adom TV September 3 further claimed that he would lead the celebrations in spite of his NDC inclinations.

He explained that he has been forced to arrive at that conclusion as a result of the behavior of certain appointees of the President.

Such appointees, he said included Presidential staffer Stan Dogbe and the Northern regional minister who according to him, are through their actions and inactions making the government unpopular.

“If they don’t correct this, and 2016, it happens to them like it happened to the NPP, I will jubilate, I will jubilate…because I have started warning them for a long time…,” he said.

Stan Dogbe made the headlines after he snatched and smashed the recorder of a GBC journalist at the 37 Military Hospital a fortnight ago.

According to Stan Dogbe, he did that as a punishment to the journalist who was eavesdropping on a private conversation between him and a minister.

The journalist had gone to the hospital to cover news on the accident of the Presidential Press Corps which resulted in the death of Ghanaian Times reporter, Samuel Nuamah.

This and several actions by other government appointees, Alhaji Bature said are occurring as a result of the greed and selfish nature of some of the appointees of the President.

Alhaji Bature, who described the ‘President as someone who is too afraid to crack the whip’, called on the first gentleman of the land to ‘put his feet down’ if he seeks re-election.

“…I'm disappointed in Mahama…he is afraid to crack the whip…the best thing is for Stan Dogbe to step aside because it’s becoming too much…anytime his name comes to the media, it’s negative…,” he said.
