Former General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is appealing for massive prayers for flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo to enable him surmount the difficulties in the party.
According to Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, the NPP leader is at a cross-road thus needs divine intervention to take the right decision ahead of the 2016 general elections.
Sir John as he is popularly called made the appeal on Adom News Monday, while reacting to renewed feud between the leadership of the party. General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong has accused the flagbearer and other executives of the party of sidelining him and Chairman, Paul Afoko in the ongoing “Rise and Build Tour” to foster unity in the party.
Nana Akufo-Addo has since called for a ceasefire and urged party members to work together in unity. But Sir John wondered why ‘enemies within’ will seek to sabotage the flagbearer who is fighting for the liberation of Ghanaians.
He revealed that the presidential hopeful is always moved to tears anytime the bickering in the NPP deepens. The former General Secretary who is a protégé of the flagbearer called on party members and Ghanaians to remember the presidential hopeful in prayers for renewed strengthen for the task ahead. “Nana Akufo-Addo needs prayers because he is really suffering. I pity him anything I see him,” he bemoaned.
Sir John also advised party members not to wash their dirty linens in public and use party structures to seek redress.
