Allotey Jacobs Supports The Candidature Of Amissah Arthur As A Running Mate

Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Allotey Jacobs has revealed that hes solidly behind the John Mahama- Amissah Arthur 2016 presidential ticket and its a good pair for continuity contrary to speculations that they dont support the bid. According to Allotey Jacobs "He is a man who can say a thing and stand by it. Ghana needs a man who will be accountable to you and all of us. We have found in him, these uncommon qualities and we believe that he has the modern world view that will see us do things differently and confront our problems with new approaches. He said: Considering the good working relationship between the duo of President Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur, the wise thing is to allow the same team flies the party flag. He is an excellent professional, a man of faith, a devoted family man and a role model to our fellow countrymen and women, he said. The vice-presidential candidate is a friend of the less-privileged, compassionate and zealous in service, a man of uncommon humility, a loyal, dependable and selfless patriot, Allotey Jacobs stated. Adding that they have also being moved by the show of love, commitment to the course of the oneness of Ghana and the progress of Ghana ably demonstrated by duo across the country in terms of the massive infrastructure development in the country that the NDC government has done. Not only that Amissah Arthur has been loyal to the President, he has also supported and added value to the transformation agenda of the present administration. He stated. Recently in a tactical move to showcase the unity between them, Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur last week Wednesday in Accra on behalf of President John Mahama went to pick the forms for President Mahama as the Presidents Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest for the National democratic congress Democratic congress Presidential ticket. A lot of Ghanaians has urged President John Mahama not to buckle under pressure to drop Vice President Amissah Arthur as his running mate when he declares to seek re- election in 2016. Although, the Ghanaian constitution allows the vice-president to operate at the pleasure of the president, President Mahama from all indication is very happy with his Veep. Especially, the duo bringing the country to a measured system of national stability, unity and pragmatism, Amissah Arthur was chosen as a running mate because of his impeccable integrity and excellent background. Something that hes has so far done to the admiration of all. According to party supporters, This is a very big sign of confidence by the party members and it has arisen because of their total commitment. Many have described those pushing for the dropping of Amissah Arthur as political jobbers who ate only out to create disaffection in the seat of power. Most of the party members say dropping the Vice President would amount to a disincentive for the loyalty Amissah Arthur has demonstrated a good deputy and ally who is not ambitious to rock the boat. Interacting with a lot of party loyalist at the party headquarters, they dismissed insinuations making the round that Mahama was buckling under pressure in some quartets to consider other people as his running mate. Others said the duo complement each other. And, Amissah Arthur is disciplined, popular and has integrity. Besides, he has a strong will power to drive the process. In order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in government, the President gave a mandate for the Vice President to oversee some government agencies and technical committees for which, Amissah Arthur has performed credibly well. In addition, Kwesi Amissah Arthur is somebody who has travelled throughout the breadth of this country. We are aware that he has visited all the ten regions and constituencies in this country. So, he has firsthand knowledge of the people's problems because he has seen them first hand and knows their culture. He has seen and respected their religious belief. He is also somebody who related to everybody with humility and firmness. Ghana needs a man of such qualities. Ghana needs a man who can speak truth to compliment the work of the president. In 418 B.C. Herodotus, the Greek philosopher who is known as the father of history said a man who does not know anything about the events that took place before he or she was born will remain forever a child. Not only was he right but one must go a step further by saying that those who refuse to learn from their history are condemned to repeating its mistakes.
