Akufo-Addos Tour Should Have Been Christened Unite, Rise And Build- Arthur Kennedy

The name “Rise and Build” tour which has been considered the best way for the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo to start his campaign on did not sound well for Dr. Kobina Arthur Kennedy, a leading member of the party.

He was emphatic that “the rise and build tour of Nana Akufo Addo should have been unite, rise and build”, explaining that without unity, no matter the rising and building, it won’t be possible to win the next elections.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Dr. Arthur Kennedy was certain that the NPP’s Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has not done enough to ensure unity and peace in the party; insisting he cannot recount any move by him to iron out the differences in the party.

He however called out that former President Kufuor should be honored in the party and not insulted for his singular effort, working hard to unite the party ahead of the 2016 elections.

He asserted that the role of Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor in resolving the bickering in the party makes him look as if he is the candidate vying for the Presidency in 2016; believing that if “everybody is doing exactly what he has done, the party would have achieved the unity it is looking for”.

He maintained Akufo-Addo has done nothing towards the peace and unity of the party, referring to his failure to utilize his first press conference at the Head office to unite the party by condemning the attacks on Kwabena Agyepong and Paul Afoko to impeach them.

“The rise and build tour of Nana Akufo-Addo should have been unite, rise and build because without unity, no matter of rising and building, it won’t yield any positive results in the tour…until he will do that all the things we are talking about will end nowhere,” he stated.
