The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, has appealed to the National Democratic Congress(NDC) delegates within the constituency to renew his mandate, to enable him continue to bring more development to the area. Mr Opam Brown Akolbire who made the appeal at the party�s office in Bolgatanga, told the delegates that unlike the other candidates who were trying to go to Parliament for the first time, he had been tried and tested. The incumbent said he had constructed 14 school projects that were previously under trees, adding that between 2014 and 2015, he had sponsored about 200 students into tertiary institutions and Senior High Schools. Under Health, Mr Akolbire said he collaborated with the Assembly to construct three CHPS compounds, and re-activated six clinics in the Yorogo, Dagwen, Sumbrungu and Tindong-Molgo communities. He said he had constructed nine dams in some of the communities in the constituency, and that the constituents were now empowered and were doing dry season farming, thus curbing the upsurge of rural-urban migration in the area. �I have also facilitated the employment of 50 youth, some of them in the Controller and Accountant General Department, and others in other government sectors. I have been tried and tested and I am appealing to you to try and vote for me to enable me to continue to bring you more development,� he stated. The MP is in Parliament for the second time, and it will be his third time if he wins the seat this time around. Three other aspirants, have so far declared their intention to contest with the incumbent MP for the primary in the Bolgatanga constituency.
