The Vice-President, Mr. John Mahama Dramani Mahama, says government would put a mechanism in place to monitor the implementation of the New Pension Scheme, in order to achieve the objectives of the scheme. The New Pension Scheme was initiated by the former government and the current government has upheld it. It is aimed at correcting the anomalies in the pension scheme of the country. Vice president Mahama says he is happy that finally series of pension schemes have been completed to pave way for its implementation. Mr. John Mahama stated these when the New Pension Scheme Implementation Committee; Representatives from SSNIT and TUC, met him at the Castle, Osu. Mr. Mahama said very soon a National Pension Regulatory Authority would be launched to oversee the affairs of Pension in the country.
