Another NPP Guru Passes on to Eternal Glory

PEACEFM NEWS can confirm that, Mrs. Grace Coleman, former MP for Afigyase Asokore in the Ashanti Region and Deputy Minister for Finance and Economic Planning, has passed away. According to the family’s spokesperson, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the late MP died around 9:50pm at the Korle-bu Teaching hospital yesterday, after a short sickness. The former MP was born in 1943 and attended Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast for her O and A Levels. She then proceeded to the University of Ghana for a Degree in Economics, and later had her Master’s Degree in Development Economics, in the USA. She was Ghana’s Ambassador to the Netherlands during Dr. Hilla Limann’s era, and was also a founding member of Vital Voices Committee and the only African woman on the committee, headed by Mrs. Hillary Clinton, former US first lady. The late Mrs. Coleman was the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning to Yaw Osafo Maafo under former President Kufuor’s administration. And until her death, was the MP for Afigyase Asokore from 1996 – 2008. She was 66 years.
