Chief Challenges Traditional Authorities To Use Kasapreko Dry Gin For Their Traditional Rights

The world is filled with unique and vibrant cultures. These traditions and customs have spread throughout local communities and abroad. Even if you are not a typical alcohol consumer, sampling a unique local beverage can be a fun way to spice up your travels and learn something about the culture at the same time. Often, these drinks are made with local ingredients you may not find elsewhere, giving your taste buds a special memory of a place.

Food and drink are a major part of destination tourism. Different drinks are part of a country's fabric, their culture, their celebrations, even their religion. Culture simply means identification: identifying oneself with a particular way of doing things. Some countries are associated with their particular brands of alcoholic beverages like the Russians and their Vodka, the English and their whisky, the Caribbeans and their Rum etc.

A recently visit by the management of Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL) to the Palace of Odeneho Nana Kwafo Akoto (III), the Paramount Chief of Akwamu Traditional Area in the Eastern Region to reciprocate his familiarization visit to the company a few weeks ago revealed how unique an opportunity it will be for Ghana to be identified with the Kasapreko brand.

“He emphasized that every human society has a culture. Culture includes a society’s arts, beliefs, customs, institutions, inventions, language, technology, and values. The preservation of cultural heritage is central to protecting a sense of who we are, a meaningful reference in our culturally diverse world.

Therefore the benefit of preserving the cultural heritage of a country is that, it ensures national integration and unity among the people and in effect create employment and boost a country’s economy”

Odeneho Nana Kwafo Akoto (III) challenged traditional authorities to discourage the use of foreign drinks when pouring libation and rather use Kasapreko Dry Gin to perform all their traditional rites.

He expressed gratitude to management, staff and workers of Kasapreko Company Ltd for showing interest in his rulership, community, his people and bringing such developmental initiative to them.

Gerald Bonsu, Marketing Manager of KCL speaking to the Chief and his divisional chiefs noted that to develop this country there is the need for Ghanaians as well as traditional leaders to learn to consume locally made products.

He said this would help promote local industries, create employment as well as enhance tourism to move the country on the right pedestal towards development.

Mr Bonsu stressed that the initiative starting with Akwamuman would be later taken to other traditional areas to ensure that the use of schnapps is totally done away with to boast the indigenous industry and develop the country.

The Manager on behalf of management presented cash and other assorted drinks of the company to the Chief and the people of Akwamu to aid them in their upcoming Akwasidae Festival.

The three most popular hotels in the community Royal Senkyi, Continental Hotel and Volta Hotel representatives at the meeting all pledged to support the initiative by serving locally produced products especially the drinks to enable it reach the shores of other continents. This would bring mutual benefits to both companies for more investment.

Kasapreko has carved a niche for itself in its 25years of existence with a vision of producing top notch alcoholic beverages in terms of taste, quality, safety and packaging for its consumers.
