2 Friends Wanted By Police For Murder

The Agona Swedru District Police Command has mounted a search for two friends who allegedly conspired to kill Mr. Michael Quainoo, a mason at Ankyease, a suburb of Agona Swedru.

The prime suspect, Kofi Ayigbe and his accomplice, only mentioned as Wiper, are currently on the run after stabbing Mr. Quainoo also known as Paa Kwao, with a pair of scissors.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in-charge of the Agona Swedru District Command, Pail Wesley Baah, disclosed this to the media at Swedru in the Agona West municipality.

He said the police had declared the two suspects wanted and appealed to the public to assist in arresting them.

According to DSP Baah, the police had scanty information about the brawl between the deceased and the two suspects who were best playmates.

He said the police were doing everything possible to unravel any mystery behind the killing of Mr. Quainoo, aged 30.

DSP Baah said on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at about 4:30 p.m. a brawl ensued between the two suspects and the deceased, and in the process Kofi Ayigbe picked a pair of scissors from a nearby cobbler’s shop and stabbed Mr. Quanioo.

According to the Agona Swedru District Police Commander, earlier the deceased was alleged to have hit the head of Ayigbe with a piece of firewood that caused a deep cut in the head.

DSP Baah said when the suspect saw that blood was oozing from his head, he (Kofi Ayigbe), went and picked the scissors and stabbed Quainoo.

The District Police Commander said Quanioo died soon on arrival at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

He said the body had been deposited at the Agona Swedru Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, while police investigation continued
