Minister Denies Taking Bush Meat As Bribe

Western Region Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo has described as “senseless" claims that he takes bush meat and foodstuffs as bribes before discharging his duties.

According to him, such allegations can only come from an individual who does not know what he is about.

Mr. Evans Aidoo’s comment comes after the District Chief Executive of Amenfi Central confessed to bribing the Minister with bush meat.

Kwakye Ackah in a secret tape intercepted by Adom News explained that his action is to ensure the Minister uses his discretionary power for his constituents to get electricity.

But Mr. Evans Aidoo in an interview with Adom News expressed shock at the allegations being levelled against him.

He is convinced the DCE spoke without thinking about the repercussions of his action.

“I’m shocked at this senseless news; I don’t think the DCE thought about it before saying this. Why will I take bush meat and foodstuff to discharge my duty as a Regional Minister” he quizzed.

Conceding that he normally receives foodstuffs from constituents when on a field trip, Mr. Evans Aidoo maintained that it has never influenced his decision in the discharge of his duty.
