Nana Adwoa Appoh Is A Potential Winner... - Allotey Jacobs

News went viral that the incumbent Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central in the Central Regional, Hon. Rachel Nana Adwoa Appoh had not picked her nomination form to seek re-election and others said she was disqualified during the NDC vetting, but the NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs says it is mere propaganda.

In the estimation of the party’s Regional Chairman, Hon Rachel Florence Appoh is the darling aspirant in the Gomoa Central Constituency among her contenders as she did well for the NDC in that constituency to wrestle power from the acidic New Patriotic Party.

Speaking to debunk the claim that the incumbent NDC MP for Gomoa Central was disqualified, Bernard Allotey Jacobs insisted it is impossible to disqualify the sitting Member of Parliament; more so when she was able to win that seat for the NDC while it was a strong place of the opposition NPP.

“Disqualifying her is impossible because she has done well for the party in her constituency and besides she is the sitting MP; she won that seat for NDC when the seat was a strong place for the NPP. I see her to be a potential winner because she cut across which was why she won that seat for us,” he opined.

Meanwhile Hon. Rachel Nana Adwoa Appoh, Mr Duncan and Mr. Damson have all been cleared by the vetting panel to contest the NDC Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries in November 7, 2015 after disqualifying one aspirant, Mr. Jalaluden Emran Adam.

Jalaluden Emran Adam from Gomoa Mangoase, who was being screened by the vetting committee of the party, lost his calm when he failed to meet certain requirements.

According to sources, Mr. Adam was asked by the Committee chaired by Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, to provide details about his payment of dues to the party before he qualifies to contest the Primaries as checks disclosed he had not paid party dues for almost three years.

Mr. Adam, who currently works with Zenith Bank as Relationship Officer could not provide evidence of his payment of dues and when probed further he allegedly assaulted the constituency Chairman Derrick Mbir and Secretary Moses Jehu - Appiah.

He reportedly also threatened the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) of the constituency, Hon. Rachel Nana Adwoa Appoh.
