Rejoinder: "Sex For Justice..." Judge Debunks Claims

A district court judge at Cape Coast, William Baffoe has dismissed reports that he set free an accused from the grips of law after he was allegedly captured in the latest Anas' judicial scandal receiving a bribe.

According to Judge William Baffoe, he was reported in media for taking money from a driver who had knocked down a girl and in return set the driver free.

In Monday's edition of the Daily Guide newspaper, the Accra-based daily published under the headline "Sex for Justice: Court Clerk Busted In Anas Video", that the district court judge "set free a driver who had knocked down a girl and made her almost paralyzed."

But in terse rejoinder copied to Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Baffoe emphatically debunked the claim.

"Your outfit published in today's (25/09/15) edition of the Peacefmonline.com under the heading" sex for justicethat I, the district court judge in cape coast, took money from a driver who had knocked down a girl and set the driver free leaving the girl paralyzed. I want to say that this is not true.

"The case under reference is the Republic vrs Kofi Francis of which an entity calling itself Tiger Eye PI is accusing me of taking a bribe. You can enquire from the registrar of the court and he will confirm to you that the case is still pending and prosecution 2nd witness is being cross examined by the lawyer for the accused driver.

How can I set a person free when prosecution has not even closed its case?"
