Black Queens Refuse To Check Out Of Hotel

Hotel bills of the Black Queens are reaching roof level by the day DAILY GUIDE SPORTS investigations have revealed.

The All African Games gold medalists have refused to check out due to their unpaid bonuses and have resolved to occupy the M-Plaza Hotel till each member pocket their financial reward of $23,000 representing their outstanding bonus and prize money.

Our checks revealed that the playing body is occupying ten of the twin rooms (two to a room) which is costing the state ¢950 a day, while the five officials are in single rooms each with a cool rate of ¢500 a day.

The team have been lodging in the plush facility since they  arrived from Congo Brazzaville on September 20 making their total bill so far a staggering ¢74,100 and still counting .

Indications are that the bill will escalate further as the Youth and Sports Ministry has failed to meet the ladies request.

The Queens rejected the Ministry’s proposed $2,000 each and threatened to hit the streets to press home their demand.

But an insider said, the team rescinded their decision regarding the demonstration scheduled for yesterday due to some interventions from high corridors.

Last four years, their male counterparts, the Black Meteors in like manner, clinched gold when Maputo hosted the tournament and were rewarded $5,000 each.

The Queens posted a 1-0 win over their Senegalese counterparts to annex the ultimate crown.
