Amidst the petty squabbles which grace some regions in the ongoing vetting of the Parliamentary candidates of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the November 7 primaries, Kofi Adams, the party’s National Organizer says the vetting has been 95 percent satisfactory.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Kofi Adams expressed satisfaction with the caliber of persons aspiring to stand on the ticket of the NDC in the country for the 2016 parliamentary elections.

“Generally, we will say 95% excellent in the vetting of the Parliamentary aspirants. The caliber of persons who have filed to contest in the Parliamentary primaries is very satisfactory…for the first time in many years, the people who are contesting are ready and prepared, their CV’s and their understanding of the responsibility of an MP, tell you their abilities are excellent”, he averred.

“Their understanding of the party’s ideologies and understanding of communities in their constituencies during the vetting is convincing enough their abilities…I have no doubt that 2016 elections will be very interesting and produce a lot of very good materials from the side of the NDC in Parliament”, he added.

According to him, the contenders in-depth knowledge of the communities forming the various constituencies and understanding of the responsibility of Members of Parliament as well as the ideologies, make them stand out when compare to past experiences.

He stressed that the aspirants’ ready and prepared curriculum vitae before the various vetting committees to smooth the operations of the committees explains the caliber of persons who are seeking to contest on the ticket of the ruling NDC.

He however was hopeful that the 2016 elections will be interesting as the NDC will produce a lot of very good materials into Parliament.

He encapsulated that the quality of people the NDC expected to file for the contest have indeed filed though he wished the likes of Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor would have contested again; adding the aspirants contesting his seat have the ability work effectively in Parliament.
