Adam Kwarasey Confirms Black Stars Return

Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has revealed that he will return to the Ghana national team for next month's friendly against Canada.

The Portland Timbers goalie could end his 16-month international exile since the 2014 World Cup after he had criticized Black Stars goalkeeper’s trainer, Nassam Yakubu, claiming he played the key role in his exclusion from the Ghana starting line up in the match against Germany and Portugal at the World Cup.

After several meeting and talks with Ghana coach Avram Grant and GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, Kwarasey has confirmed he is making a return to the Black Stars. “Yes I have been contacted and hopefully I will feature in the friendly against Canada,” Kwarasey told Asempa FM.

The USA-based keeper last played for Ghana when they played the United States in the opening game of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He has since then failed to honour calls from the national team following his fallout with goalkeeper trainer Nassam Yakubu.
