Police Cite Dispute In Bolga As Reason LMVC Cant Demonstrate

The Police Service has managed to secure an injunction from court to prevent the Let My Vote Count Alliance from picketing at the premises of the Electoral Commission (EC).

An Accra Circuit Court granted an injunction filed by the Police Service to stop the pressure group from embarking on the exercise.

Prior to this, an Accra Circuit Court had also granted the Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) permission to picket at the premises of the Electoral Commission (EC).

According to the court, the exparte injunction secured by the Police had elapsed its 10 day lawful existence, hence the go ahead by the court for LMVCA to picket at the EC office.

But the Circuit Court in its new ruling has asked the group not to embark on any other demonstration until October.
