Danish trainer Tommy Moller Nielsen has confirmed he has signed a two year pre-contract with Asante Kotoko as he is ready to take over the coaching job of the Kumasi based club. The Danish tactician was brought into the country last week by a benefactor of Kotoko Dr. Kwaku Frimpong who believes employing a foreign coach will strengthen the technical department of the former Africa champions.

Tommy Moller Nielsen deal with Asante Kotoko got fueled after reports in the local media suggested that the CE0 of Champion Divine Clinic Dr. Kwaku Frimpong will take over from Lawyer Paul Adu Gyamfi as the Board chairman of the club while Ex Bayern Munich star Samuel Osei-Kuffuor will replace Opoku Nti as the General Manager of the club.

Tomas Muller Nielsen will thus replace David Duncan who took over the coaching role of the Porcupine Warriors after the departure of Didi Dramani in March and guided Kotoko to finish at the 6th position, but failed to win the FA Cup after his side succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Medeama in the final at the Essipong sports stadium.

The Danish trainer has been in Ghana for the past two weeks and has now confirmed signing a two year pre contract with Asante Kooko adding that the Kumasi based club will play positive football under him.

“I've signed for Kotoko and will be in charge but my vision at the club is to win more games and trophies to make the supporters happy,” Nielsen told Goal.

“Kotoko players will play positive football under me, kicking the ball forward, passing a lot and creating a lot of chances.

The 54 year old trainer added: “I always like my strikers to be dangerous against opposing team. I like to play orthodox 4-4-2 with different variations depending on the game and opponents.”

“I like pressure. Pressure is like a medicine to me, if there is no pressure then it's not me because I'm used to pressure. From all the clubs I've been to, there is always pressure.

“I will definitely come back in October. I need to prepare adequately so that my job comes as a success. I will also try and bring in Danish or European sponsorships to help the team when I'm at post final”.
