Robber Burger In Trouble

The Upper East Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Bright Oduro, has hinted that Johnson Kombian alias Burger, who was arrested in Bolgatanga and handed over to the Tamale Police, will be arraigned in Bolgatanga as well, for some crimes he allegedly perpetrated in the Upper East region. Johnson Kombian was arrested together with a friend, Fuseni Ibrahim, who is also an ex-convict released from jail last year November, at a spot where he had gone to drink. According to ACP Oduro, Burger and his friend, upon seeing the Police tried to escape, but were overpowered and handed over to the Police in Tamale since he had been on their wanted list as being the most deadly criminal operating in the Northern region. Burger was reported to have broken jail two times with the latest being in 2005, at Gambaga in the Northern region. He was also reported to have killed a soldier and a police officer. He was a known criminal who tormented and frightened residents of Nakpanduri in the Northern region openly without fear. He was mostly seen carrying deadly weapons including AK 47 and pump action guns around the Nakpanduri township. Johnson Kombian and his friend, Fuseni Ibrahim, were believed to be planning an operation in Bolgatanga, as eye-witnesses said the two were spotted, roaming in town on a motorbike, prior to their arrest. Burger might have left the Northern region to the Upper East region probably to escape from the police in the Northern region or start operations in the Upper East region. He was reported to have contributed to some crimes including the snatching of motorbikes, cars and mobile phones at Garu in Upper East Region, for which reason he should be brought back for trial in Bolgatanga. source:D-Guide
