Gruzah Accuses Delegates

King Faisal football club founder,Alhaji Karim Gruzah has accused delegates to the elections of the Ghana Football Association of receiving bribes for votes.

A video showing an angry Gruzah in a tirade at delegates gathered at Lunch City, a popular eatery at Kanda in Accra last Tuesday has appeared .

Gruzah accused several of the delegates of being dishonest and selling their votes in a scene that attracted a sizeable crowd.

In spite of several attempts to calm him down, Gruzah continued to make his accusations forcefully and to seen at one point telling a football coach to know his place and stay out of the issue.

Meanwhile, two newly- elected members to the Executive Committee of the GFA have expressed surprise at defeat of Fred Crentsil, Vice President of the GFA.

Crentsil who is regarded as a senior football administrator did not gather enough votes to retain his seat on the powerful GFA board.

He will thus be vacating his position as the Vice President of the GFA in the coming days when the new executives are sworn into office.

And Wilfred Osei who retained his seat on the Ex.Co as one of four representatives in the second tier league admits Crentsil’s defeat comes as a blow.

“A tower has been taken off the Executive Committee,” he said.

“He is one formidable force on the Executive Committee but when it comes to elections, a lot of factors come to play.

“But I believe he has taken it in good faith.”

For Kurt Okraku, he never expected the former Hearts of Oak CEO to lose his seat insisting that his experience was very vital for those new coming on the Ex. Co.

In a jubilant mood, the Dreams FC President said “I am very shocked and surprised at the turn of events. I am happy that I won. When we started the campaign, most people thought I wouldn’t win. But for Mr. Fred Crentsil to lose his seat, I am surprised.”

“I am surprised because he is the vice President of the FA. And that means a lot. Honestly I am shocked at his loss,” he added.
