Police Suspends Court Action Against LMVCA

The Ghana Police Service has suspended a court action against Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA), a pressures group.

The police had earlier charged members of the pressure group for going against the public order act and for destroying state properties during the September 16 demonstration held in Accra.

But speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Thursday, convener of LMVCA, David Asante indicated that the case has been suspended sine die.

"The police informed me that I will be appearing in court and so my lawyers and I were prepared but I received another call from the police handling the case indicating that the case has been suspended sine die. We wish the police will be more definite…They shouldn’t have started if they knew they wouldn’t continue with it” he stated.
