Reason Why NDC Is Training Persons In China Ken Agyapong Alleges

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has alleged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sponsored twenty persons to China to go and train them on how to rig the upcoming 2016 elections.

The Legislator speaking on Asempa FM Thursday said the NDC with the help of the government has undertaken this move as part of the several measures the party has put in place to rig next year’s polls.

“…As I speak to you, the NDC has taken 20 persons to China to go and train on how to rig the 2016 election using the biometric machine…,” he said.

The NPP firebrand said the NDC is resorting to this and other tactics because of its belief that the Electoral Commission (EC) is likely to change the current voters register.

The EC Boss, Charlotte Osei after an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on September 30, 2015 announced that it has engaged IT experts to help with the cleaning of the voters register which is said to have been bloated.

And this move, Ken welcomed insisting that ‘it would only be good news if the firm contracted for the purpose remains neutral.’

“If they are going to serve the whole country’s interest other than serving the government who contracted them, it won’t be a bad idea…,” he said.

Ken further alleged that the NDC party working in tandem with the government has been supplying foreigners with Ghanaian birth certificates and old passports to allow them to easily re-register when the EC gives the go ahead for a new voters register.

On recent police brutalities of the citizenry, Ken warned that Ghana would travel ‘the Egyptian path’ if the police do not amend their ways.

These allegations, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NDC, Joseph Kobina Ade Coker who was on the show said were untrue and lacked substance.

According to him, the NDC has never sent persons to China to be trained for any rigging purpose adding that ‘China is not the right place to train people to rig elections because China does not organize elections.’
