It was falsely published by many media outlet that Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo will outdoor the new membership card of the New Patriotic Party on Wednesday at the auditorium of Miklin Hotel at Danyame in Kumasi.
Hours after the publication was out, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the party, Samuel Pyne, declared that the regional executives will boycott the programme because they are unaware of it.
To ease the seeming tension, Mr. Sadic Abdulai Mustapha has rendered an apology to Nana Akufo Addo and the entire party on behalf of the National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko.

RE: NANA ADDO TO LAUNCH PARTY ID CARD
We wish to correct the publication on 'Nana Addo Launches the NPP'S ID card on Wednesday’. As a group responsible for spreading the publication we wish to state that the flag bearer of our party wouldn't be at the event but rather as was planned, our National Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko.
We wish to also apologize to the flag bearer, the entire Ashanti group of the NPP and also the entire media and general public for putting out such information.
We also want to make the entire populace know that, due to the visit of the flag bearer to the Ashanti region, we understand the program has been called off.
We support the cancelation of the program and view it as a positive step to also serve the party's interest.
We believe we can use our energies to support the rise and build tour of Nana Addo in the Ashanti region.
We wish to commend Mr Afoko for such decision and we are poised to support the flag bearer as he comes to the Ashanti region this week.
We also want to pledge our support to the Ashanti regional executives as they prepare to meet the flag bearer of our party.
