We'll Arrest Any NDC Delegate Who Votes Against Prez Mahama On D-Day - NDC E/R Chair

It is now obvious that no delegate from Lower Manya in the Eastern Region in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a democratic right to vote to reject the candidature of President John Dramani Mahama per the warning of the party’s Eastern Regional Chair, Bismark Tawiah Boateng.

It would be recalled that the whole NDC machinery lost their cool when the party’s Oyarifa’s branch Youth Organizer, George Boateng decided to contest his leader, President Mahama because he is incompetent and a failure as President.

General Secretary, Asiedu Nketiah and his deputy Koku Anyidoho rained insults and even tagged George Boateng as a lunatic and eventually denied him the right to contest President Mahama.

Affirming the strong will of the party’s Executives to overwhelmingly endorse President Mahama, Tawiah Boateng on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show said the Police will arrest any delegate with the intention to vote for the parliamentary aspirant and vote no for a presidential slot.

He explained that the party Executives in the Eastern region have received complaints that due to the widening of the Electoral College to reach out to all NDC members, some parliamentary aspirants have taken undue advantage to register those who are not genuine NDC members in order to maximize their votes during the congress.

“If we count the vote in Lower Manya and see a zero recorded against President Mahama then those persons are members of NPP and it is you [parliamentary aspirants] who brought them. If we investigate and arrest them, we will arrest you as well because you brought them; the police will arrest them,” he warned.

“We are expecting only NDC delegates to vote on that day because it is NDC delegates’ congress and not someone from different political parties. I want them to understand that it is only YES we want to see on the Presidential Slot because we want him and we are going to endorse him”, he emphasized.

He however urged all the party executives to be vigilant to fish out the fake people who they think are not members of the party but have joined with the motive to create the notion that President Mahama is a bad leader.

“If they insist on voting during congress day and we find out, we will report them to the police because they are not part of us. Any NDC member has the right to vote but the warning is going out to those who are not party members”, he admonished.
