DCE assures youth of employment

The government will not lay off any worker under the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), Mr. Joseph Foster Andoh, Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District Chief Executive, has said. He was speaking at the inauguration of the re-constituted eight-member District Employment Task Force for the area on Saturday. Mr Andoh advised the youth to embrace the programme and appealed to those already in it to be committed and dedicated to their work to ensure the success of the programme. They should therefore eschew absenteeism, lateness and malingering and urged heads of department, under whom they work to monitor their performance, since the sustainability of the programme would depend on how hard they work. The task force, which has the DCE as chairman, was sworn into office by Mr. Patrice Caesar-Sowah National Project officer, Youth Employment and Womens Entrepreneurship. He appealed to the youth to register with the NYEP to enable them secure jobs and contribute to the development of the nation. He also appealed to chiefs to release land for community projects.
